Case study · Artek Nexus product
Marcel turns a sentence into a list of Canadian businesses.
Marcel is our own product. Sales teams describe the companies they want, in English or French, and Marcel returns verified, enriched businesses they can save or export, without building filters by hand.
Marcel is designed, built and operated by Artek Nexus. It is our product, not a client commission.
Language in. Business records out.
The model interprets the request. Registry data and contact enrichment supply the business information.

01
The problem
Building a prospect list usually means juggling registry searches, directory filters and spreadsheets, then cleaning the result by hand before it reaches a CRM. Filter-heavy tools assume you already know the right categories and codes, and few of them work naturally in French.
02
What we built

01
Search in plain language
Users describe a market the way they would to a colleague, such as plumbers in Laval or manufacturers in the Montérégie, in English, French or a mix of both.
02
Canadian business data
Results draw largely on public Canadian registries, from municipal to federal, and are enriched with practical details such as phone, website, Google rating and NEQ.
03
Lists ready for outreach
Prospects can be saved in Marcel or exported to CSV or Excel for a CRM or an outbound workflow.
04
Accounts, credits and billing
Self-serve sign-up with free starting credits, then monthly or annual plans managed inside the product.
03
Implementation choices
A language model for intent, data sources for facts
The language model interprets what the user is asking for. The companies returned come from registry and enrichment data, so each result is a business record rather than generated text.
Bilingual from the start
Search, interface and account flows work in English and French, because that is how Marcel’s users work.
Responsible data use
Marcel favours legitimate sources and clear B2B use, with privacy requests and opt-out handling where Quebec’s Law 25 and Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) require them.
A marketing site built to perform
marcelai.ca uses scroll-driven animation and smooth scrolling that switch off for visitors who prefer reduced motion, while the content stays server-rendered for search engines.

We bring the same approach to client projects: understand the work, define a useful first version, then build. A few sentences are enough to start.
